Boss Kut Gazelle Instruction Manual

Kut

I bought my Bosskut Gazelle 8-9 years ago and for 2 weeks, never plugged it in. Rimage prism 64 bit driver. I just stared at it!! After those two weeks though, I cut away and never looked back. I learned so much from using this machine and Funtime software. The owners and staff at this company were A and I hope they enjoy their retirement years. The little mermaid 2 toy. Start by removing the Gazelle from it's packaging and placing on a sturdy surface near the computer. Get both pieces of the power supply cord and connect the 2 pieces together. Connect the wall plug end of the cord to a wall outlet, and the other end to the gazelle. Do not turn the Gazelle on yet.

Machine Used: BossKut Gazelle
Software: Funtime Scrapbooking IV
Files Used:Swirly Flourish by Judy Stark BKD 201, Swirly Butterfly by Judy Stark BKD 200
Materials: Chip board, card stock
For this project I decided I wanted to see what my Gazelle could do with some chip board! My goal was to take one of the beautiful BossKut Designs and make an embossing folder that I could pass through my manual die cutter press.

Using one of the chip boards that I've received when ordering family photos, I cut out the Swirly Flourish by Judy Stark BKD 201. I cut a rectangle around it and then cut an identical sized rectangle. I used a standard blade, speed 1, and force 5 to cut the chip board.

I applied masking tape to one of the sides, making my 2 rectangles a sandwich. Then I put the die cuts back into the rectangle that I cut them from and applied glue to the side that would touch the other rectangle. I folded the 2 rectangles together, making sure that the negative matched up with the die cut.

Since I was having so much fun with the embossing, I had to put my Gazelle to work and emboss some vellum as well. I used the embossing tool and embossing mat to emboss the vellum. I chose to use a lower force setting of 2 and multiple passes (4) to get the look I wanted.

Bosskut Gazelle Software

For additional decoration to the card, I used the new release Swirly Butterfly by Judy Stark BKD 200. With a few self adhesive pearls, these adorable butterflies really completed the look of the card.

Cutting by Layers and Colors with your Bosskut Gazelle

For an example, I am using a 8.5 inch by 11 inch page and cutting the 1 piece CD folder file. I will start by changing my outline colors to 3 different colors. My main pattern is the folder in the black outline. I made the insert tab green and frame pink.
1- To change outline cutting lines: right click your mouse on the small color tile in your color box.
You can also right click on the large color cube on the top of your color box tool.
I am now ready to cut by color. Click the color you are wanting to cut. You will see the check mark on the color chosen. Your screen will now show as below in the picture.
I chose the black and all my Gazelle will cut is the folder files!
Now I want to cut the other files and you can repeat the process above by single color or choose both if you are wanting to cut with the same paper.
2- To select more than one color at a time: Select first color and then hold down your SHIFT key on your keyboard and select the other.

You can move the cutting files on your mat to the bottom if you want. Also, duplicate by selecting and right click your mouse, click duplicate and move the file. Very easy process cutting by color!!!
Next, cutting by selected shape which is the shortcut I use the most often.
I select which file I want to cut. Notice the pink frame has the file selected?
Look at the picture above and in the middle of your cutting toolbar you will see 'Advance Options.' You will now click 'Selected Objects.'
I now only have the pink frame on my mat to cut!!
This shortcut is great for multiple items all on 1 open window in your Funtime software.
I have added other files to my work mat. If you have a file you want to cut using different papers, ungroup first and separate as I did above with the sunglasses.

Same process as above, just select first and then click the selected object feature under advance options.

Only the file I want to cut is showing and I have moved it down to my corner before cutting. One of the great features of my Bosskut Gazelle is I don't have to move before cutting if I have paper in the area of my design.
